Very comprehensive. Nice. The only one I would add is fFN for Fetal Fibronectin - this test is popular at our hospital.
Thanks for the list...any idea what NGTM or REM stands for?
REM is rapid eye movement. Thanks for the great dictionary. I am also looking for NGTM, in my Midwifery studies.

Have you any ides what FBS stands for? Im a first year midwifery student and have been given abbreviations to find out. Thanks, Claire
FBS is most likely fasting blood sugar.....
Suzan, puzzled about NGTM but will look some more...let me know if you find out what it is
FBS is fetal blood sampling (as in when the CTG indicates decellerations and they need to check whether to do a section or whether to continue they check the pH by doing a fetal blood sample).
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
Generally I do not post on blogs, but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so! really nice post.

IPPV is for Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation and SCN is for Special Care Nursery (at least in my neck of the woods!)

The S in SVB is for 'spontaneous', not assisted with vacuum or forceps. H/O is 'history of'
